She owns Thrive Fitness Studio in Bangor, and she is also the author of the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Losing 20 Pounds in 2 Months. Her writing has appeared in the Washington Post, Fitness Magazine, Muscle & Fitness, Stars and Stripes, and more.
And she dislikes writing about herself in third person so she’s going to switch to first person.
When I was in school, I hated gym class even though I loved riding my bike and running around outside. In fact, when I was in the eighth grade I even got a permanent excuse so I never had to attend it again.
And I also wasn’t very fond of English class, even though I loved reading and set a goal to read every book in the kid’s section at the Bangor Public Library.
Hang in there: there’s a point to this.
The thing is, when I figured out how to do the things I loved – writing and working out – on my own terms, in a way that made sense to me, everything kind of fell into place.
And that’s what I want to help others be able to achieve. I want to help eliminate the dogma of fitness and bring in the fun, so that we can start enjoying moving again.
Because it’s not always about having tight triceps and six-pack abs (although I certainly can help you with that too).
Mostly, it’s about moving better, having fun, and feeling great so you can enjoy your life.
